Categories of Membership

Provisional:  First-year members share in the full benefits of the association but are unable to cast votes, hold office, or sponsor other applicants.

Full:  After the provisional year, members are entitled to all benefits of the association, including voting privileges and the ability to write two letters of sponsorship annually.  Full members may also run for officers’ positions on the Board of Directors if they meet the qualifications of (1) having completed two years as full members and (2) having attended at least two national congresses, or one national and one international congress.

Affiliate:  The Board of Directors retains the right to invite full members to transfer their memberships into one of three affiliate categories.  Affiliate members may not vote or hold office in the corporation.

  1. Professional affiliates are individuals who have been full members for a minimum of five years (over and above the provisional first year) and who are leaving the concierge profession to pursue a related career.
  2. Social affiliates are individuals who are fully retired from the workforce, who have been full members for a minimum of five years (over and above the provisional first year) and who wish to maintain their affiliations with Les Clefs d’Or USA for social purposes.
  3. International affiliates are concierges who may become members of Les Clefs d’Or USA if they happen to reside in the American Zone (as set forth by UICH) but in a country where no established Les Clefs d’Or chapter yet exists.

Honorary:  From time to time, individuals who have shown great support for Les Clefs d’Or USA are nominated for honorary membership in the association.
